I’m Melissa (you can call me Mel).

I’m an expert documentary editor specializing in quirky films about big topics.

My editing superpowers include: turning imperfect footage into story gold, finding a structure where there is none, and delivering strong cuts at lightning speed. Also, puns.

In addition to documentaries, I’ve edited videos for Greenpeace, the National Women's Law Center, Ipas, KPBS, Edutopia/The George Lucas Educational Foundation, and the Pew Charitable Trusts.

I’ve talked about my work at American University's School for Environmental Filmmaking, the Center for Reproductive Rights, and University of Maryland.

I’m an active member of the Alliance of Documentary Editors, The Video Consortium and the Freelancer’s Union.

When I’m not editing, I like to be on a bike.
